Investigation of antiprotons use for therapy and imaging

The nuclear and elementary particle physics advances during the last century and the technological development produced a number of valuable medical imaging and therapeutical techniques. Today new methods are under investigation in order to improve our arsenal against the diseases. Such a new method is the investigation of how antiprotons can be used for therapeutical and imaging techniques. The underlying physics is discussed and the current scientific studies on this subject are reviewed.
