Virus Structure: from Crick and Watson to recent conjectures
After a brief introduction to the world of viruses, we shall focus on the spherically
shaped and we shall illustrate what is known about their icosahedral structure (theoretically
posited by Crick and Watson already in 1956). Recent results on the fascinating modifications of the
icosahedral structure for generic spherical membranes will finally be presented and questions on the
relevance for virus structure will be raised.
