Abstrakt: The next generation of large volume liquid argon (LAr) detectors requires an understanding and optimization of the collection of light created by scintillation. Since most photodetectors are not sensitive for the emission wavelength of LAr, wavelength shifters are needed. Measurements of the fluorescence yield of wavelength shifters in LAr should be performed in order to characterize the light collection of these detectors. For this purpose a new triggered LAr light source system was developed at Garching underground laboratory. The setup includes a radioactive source, which induces scintillation light emission by LAr. Three SiPMs (silicon photomultipliers) produce trigger signals correlated to light emission of the source. The wavelength shifter samples are placed in two holders in front of one PMT (photomultiplier tube) each. The overview of the setup as well as first measurements using different wavelength shifters will be presented.
