Abstrakt:
Fission barrier height is one of the least known nuclear parameters, with experimental data acquired decades ago, especially existing very close to so-called beta-stability line. The recent progress in production and post-acceleration of heavy exotic beams at HIE-ISOLDE facility, opens “new doors” for investigation of fission process in inverse kinematics of the most exotic nuclides. Alongside the state-of-the-art active target, we can address some of the open questions raised by astrophysical observations.
We performed the first (d,pf)-transfer induce fission measurement in inverse kinematics using ACTAR TPC active target with radioactive beams. The neutron deficient and neutron rich isotopes 209,227Fr were post-accelerated to the energy of 7.6 MeV, impinging D2 gaseous target below atmospheric pressures. The performance of ACTAR TPC is still under investigation. Its capability to measure kinematics of reaction products including fission fragments can allow us to reconstruct the populated excitation-energy distributions as a function of the kinetic energy in the entrance channel. Big data are still under analysis in order to extract fission barrier height of investigated nuclides.
