Upgrading of MASHA setup. Using cryogenic gas-filled ion stopping cell

V. Yu. Vedeneev

JINR Dubna

Abstract: The MASHA setup designed as a mass-spectrometer for super heavy elements with masses up to 450 e.m.u. is described. The experimental setup uses solid ISOL (Isotope Separation On-Line) method. In the present speech, the using of second-generation cryogenic gas-filled cell is described, which is in a stage of production already. The advantages of CryoCell in comparison to the solid hot catcher are the drastically increased total separation efficiency (about 40% compared to 7%) and reduced separation time (about 10 ms compared to 1.8 s). The overview of the main parts of the “Gas Cather” and its implementation for upgraded MASHA setup at cyclotron DC280 is presented in the speech. The using of TIMEPIX detector with MASHA setup for neutron-rich Rn isotopes identification is also involved in.
