Abstrakt: The Biomedical Technology Unit (BITU) (Medical Physics, University of Patras) is recognized as pioneer in the development of Digital Tomosynthesis (DTS), an R&D activity that started in 1987. Research in this area also involves modeling and simulation for in silico design, testing and experimentation in medical X-ray imaging. The Breast X-ray imaging simulators using analytical or Monte Carlo techniques, developed in our unit during the last 15 years, received worldwide recognition and led to numerous international collaborations.
Presentation will go through a brief review of BITU’s research activities, and focus in it’s past, current and more importantly future collaborating programs with IEAP’s Imaging Laboratory.
