Abstrakt:
The possible relation of the new proposed X17 MeV boson (investigated from the ATOMKI group) to the dark matter problem and the fact that it might explain the (g-2)μ puzzle, triggered an enhanced theoretical and experimental interest in the particle and hadron physics community.
In this talk, we will consider several extensions of the Standard Model (SM) which can explain the anomalies observed by the ATOMKI collaboration in the decay of excited states of Beryllium-8 (and later on published similar results using a Tritium), via a new boson with a mass around 17 MeV yielding electron positron pairs. We will explore how both spin-0 and spin-1 solutions are possible and will describe the Beyond the SM (BSM) scenarios that can accommodate these. At some point we will touch those which they include BSM frameworks with either an enlarged Higgs sector, or gauge sector, or both.
