The radioactive beam facility at Sao Paulo (RIBRAS) will be presented including selected reactions of astrophysical interest. Systematic results will be given on fusion reactions of weakly bound nuclei, stable and radioactive, obtained by our and other groups through a method developed at Rio de Janeiro (UFF method). New results on fusion and breakup mechanisms of selected reactions will be discussed.
