Over the last 30 years facilities have been developed to produce secondary beams of nuclei out of the line of stability. Some exotic neutron rich nuclei present very surprising features such as the halo formed by the neutrons in excess in 6He. Their half-lifes are in many cases long enough to allow secondary scatterring experiments. RIBRAS is the brazilian radioactive ion beams facility to produce secondary beams of light exotic nuclei.
