CZELTA (Czech Large-area Time Coincidence Array)
The aim of the project
CZELTA
is the fundamental research of high energy cosmic rays. Besides the scientific purpose, the project has also educational impact. Within the project, the network of detection stations of secondary cosmic rays showers is built. These stations are built mostly on the roofs of selected high schools in the Czech Republic. Similarly to other projects in the European Union, Canada and the United States, students of Czech high schools actively participate in this project–it contributes to improve and to make atractive their education of natural and technical sciences.
The project started on summer 2004 with collaboration of
University of Alberta
(Canada), which realizes parallel project
ALTA
(NALTA).
