About IEAP Focus and Goals

IEAP acts as a CTU base for research in particle and nuclear physics. It is here that detector technologies for fundamental physical and satellite experiments and precise imaging are being developed. In connection with our involvement in experiments in the underground laboratories at IEAP, we are building our own research infrastructures and developing technologies used in low-background experiments focused on neutrino physics and the search for dark matter in the Universe. Following the fundamental experiments, the relevant theoretical physical disciplines are also being developed at IEAP. Through an attractive scientific programme, we are successful in attracting talented young foreign researchers to science and research in the Czech Republic (their share in the institute exceeds a third of scientists).

I would also like to underline our active participation in the European Consortium for Astroparticle Theory (EuCAPT). In September 2025, IEAP organized the second EuCAPT Workshop of Astroneutrino Theory, this time focusing on exotic neutrino interactions and their possible impacts on astroparticle physics and cosmology. Over the course of two weeks, twelve invited renowned speakers spoke, which attracted more than 30 participants from all over the world.
