Forward Proton Detectors for the ATLAS Experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
Michael Rijssenbeek
AFP Project Leader; Stony Brook University and CERN
Abstract:
The seminar will describe the physics that becomes accessible with the deployment of new forward proton detectors at the ATLAS general purpose experiment (AFP) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for running in 2017. The detectors are discussed in some detail as well, in particular the high-resolution silicon pixel detectors and the novel 20-picosecond time-of-flight detectors under construction by the Olomouc group. Finally, an overview of future developments for AFP is given.
Seminar takes place on Tuesday, February 28th 2017 at 2:00 PM
in the IEAP meeting room, Praha 2 ‐ Albertov, Horská 3a/22.
