Santu Mondal, MSc., Ph.D.
Personal data
Dr. Santu Mondal is a postdoctoral researcher in high-energy particle physics with extensive experience in proton-proton (pp), proton-lead (p–Pb), and lead-lead (Pb–Pb) collision environments within the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN. He completed his PhD in 2024 through a joint program between Silesian University in Opava and the Czech Technical University in Prague. His expertise includes precision cross-section measurements, advanced statistical analysis, and multilepton final state studies. He has conducted detailed studies of Higgs boson production and decay in multilepton final states, contributing to a deeper understanding of Higgs couplings and rare processes. Dr. Mondal has been deeply involved in two landmark analyses—one leading to the first observation of top–antitop production in proton–lead collisions, published in JHEP, and another on heavy-ion top quark studies, published in Physical Review Letters. He also contributes to ongoing detector upgrade efforts and complex data analysis workflows within ATLAS.
