CHIPS and the new deal
Jennifer Thomas

Abstract: CHIPS is a 5kt prototype detector, now deployed in the NuMI neutrino beam. Its goal is to demonstrate the possibility of radically cheaper neutrino detectors and all that stems from that ability regarding precision measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters. I will talk about the design, construction and deployment of the CHIPS detector and outline a plan for future work.
