After graduating from the Faculty of Physics of Charles University in 1983, I started working as a physics and mathematics teacher at the Grammar School, Pardubice, Dašická, where I still work today. In my physics teaching, I use a lot of experimental activities. I have prepared and written a number of instructions for laboratory work. A large part of them is dedicated to measurements using computers. I have dedicated my whole life to working with students talented in physics. Mainly in the Secondary School Professional Activities and in the Physics Olympiad.

Since 2020, I have been working as the chairman of the FO commission in the Pardubice region. I began collaborating with the Institute of Physics and Mathematics in 2005 in the Czelta project - cosmic radiation measurements. I led several student theses on cosmic radiation and organized seminars for teachers and students in the Czelta project.

In 2012, I became a part-time employee of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Czech Technical University and began to deal with the application of pixel detectors in physics teaching at all types of schools. In cooperation with Jablotron, we developed the MX-10 edukit set, and after its production was completed, we developed the SESTRA set (School Education Set with Timepix for Radiation Analysis) at the Institute of Physics and Technology. At the Institute of Physics and Technology, I conduct seminars for teachers on Progressive Detection Methods in Teaching Subatomic and Particle Physics at primary and secondary schools accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. I also conduct courses on working with pixel detectors for secondary and elementary school students, and I organize internships for FO winners at the Institute of Physics and Technology. To help teachers, I wrote scripts containing 50 experiments with a pixel detector, which were translated into English and are also used in foreign schools. I also raise public awareness about pixel detectors at conferences for physics teachers.

I have attended a number of foreign summer schools for university students as a lecturer on the topic of Hands-on exercises with pixel detectors. We primarily cooperate with IEEE NPSS and ANIMMA. We are constantly improving the SESTRA kit and producing it for sale to domestic and foreign interested parties. We train those who purchase the kits. We create educational videos to support work with pixel detectors.

Since 2024, I have also been dedicated to popularizing CzechRad detectors made as part of the IMPAKT project. I have prepared a teaching program for schools, which we have tested in a number of Czech schools and which is gradually being expanded to science centers in the Czech Republic.
