Personal data
I’m Pinelopi Christodoulou, a Ph.D student at FBME CTU in Prague specializing in spectral X-ray imaging with the Timepix3 detector. My work focuses on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in high-resolution, energy-sensitive imaging—technology that has exciting applications in fields like medical diagnostics and material science.
I’m particularly passionate about simulation and modeling, and I’ve contributed to the development of a Timepix3 front-end simulator plugin for Allpix². This tool helps us better understand detector behavior, including signal processing, noise modeling, and charge sharing effects. I also work on improving sub-pixel resolution and energy reconstruction using advanced probability mapping techniques.
Beyond research, I’m committed to STEM outreach and education. I actively support initiatives like TIMEPIX@school, which brings cutting-edge detector technology into classrooms to inspire the next generation of scientists.
