The prize for educators awarded by The Learned Society of the Czech Republic and by the science supporting endowment fund Neuron

The prize is an appreciation for educators who encourage interest in science and research in high schools and create conditions for the individual research activities of their students. This year's prize was awarded to Dr. Vladimír Vícha who received it from the President of The Learned Society, prof. Jiří Bičák during the General Assembly of The Learned Society held on May 23rd. 2016 in the Karolinum. While reading the laudation, remembered was the care of talented students in physics, out of which 7 participated in the international Physics Olympiad and every year several advance to the national round. V. Vícha had supervised over 20 scientific projects of secondary school students, several of which were devoted to the project CZELTA and also to the measurements with a pixel detector. This year's project "Influence of Earth’s magnetic field on charged particles moving in its range" was created by a student of the secondary grammar school in Pardubice, Dašická, Jan Jurica under the supervision of V. Vícha and consultants in. they C. Granja and Š. Polanský, will compete in June in the national round of the competition of secondary school students' projects in the field of physics.
