Abstrakt: Positron acceleration in plasmas has been lately considered to become an auspicious technology for building a future multi-TeV electron-positron collider. Due to high accelerating gradients, this method leads to the higher compactness of the accelerator compared to conventional devices. Self-generated fields in electron-evacuated plasma structures are, however, in contrast to electrons, usually not well-suited for positron focusing and on-axis guiding. In addition, an external positron source is required. Here, we study electron-positron pair generation by a collision of a multi-PW laser pulse with a relativistic electron beam, and subsequent acceleration of the positrons by the same laser pulse. The mechanism was examined by numerical quasi-3D particle-in-cell simulation with the OSIRIS framework. We show that focusing challenges can be overcome due to the radiation reaction force if the sufficient intensity is used for the positron generation. This setup brings the great advantage of generating and accelerating the positron beam in one stage with a single laser pulse.
